Dog Walking
OK - so we all know dogs need exercise and/or stimulation
- plus cuddles, food, rules, direction, training,
grooming etc- and you're
looking at our website because of work/family commitments,
illness, infirmity, you're going on holiday or your dog's
being a monkey and is too strong for you!
Our dog walking service is tailored to meet the individual requirements of both the
dogs and owners.
We offer one to one and
small group dog walks suited to your dog's
temperament, behaviour, age and breed.
We will ask you to complete our Dog Walking Questionnaire
before we arrange to meet you and your dog and undertake a
basic assessment. Its important for your dog to interact
and bond with us before we take them out for a walk when
you're not around
so "at least" the first three walks are usually on a one to
one basis either on a short or long lead. After that, and if
you usually let your dog free run off lead, and you're happy
for us to do so in safe areas (with or without other dogs),
then we will test out their recall first! It is a condition
of our insurance that we have the owners written authority to allow
a dog off lead.
We are experienced dog owners /
handlers (including undertaking dog assessments, home
checks, fostering and transport runs for various dog
rescue organisations). We can usually help with the
typical training and behaviour issues most dogs go
through at some stage, including pulling on the lead and
recall! If we think your dog needs specialist referral
including for veterinary care or aggressive behaviour -
then we will discuss this with you.
The welfare of all animals / people we may encounter on
walks is paramount as are happy dogs and happy owners!
Most dogs enjoy running and socialising in a "pack",
however, the "pack" must be under control and responsive to
the Human in Charge - not running riot and acting like
hoologans! We take a sensible,
considered and realistic approach to the number of
dogs partaking in a group walk - we won't take risks chasing
a quick buck, or the dogs chasing livestock or cyclists!
Prices are flexible and vary depending on your individual
requirements - including how frequently you need us!
Discount available for additional dogs from the same
household.
We
charge £10 for the initial "meet and greet" assessment,
plus we hope you'll get the kettle on and break out the biscuits - human
grade quality preferred!
