What to feed a dog is
always a bone of contention.
We’re
not going to go into the pro’s and cons’s of the RMB /
BARF diet – there’s loads of information available on
the internet. We’re not fanatical or evangelical about
raw feeding – we don’t try to preach or convince anyone,
but we’re always happy to have a chat with anyone who is
interested or considering feeding raw meaty bones.
A full time raw diet, or supplemental or recreational
raw feeding, are alternatives to commercial diets &/or
treats.
All the raw meaty bones we feed to our own dogs are
locally sourced from human grade suppliers. To make it
worth their while, we have to buy in bulk, often upwards
of 75kg at a time from each supplier.
We are not pet food suppliers or resellers as such. But
we are happy for local dog owners to buy supplies from
us at prices that are very reasonable and help to cover
our collection and storage costs. This is no different
to groups of dog owners who buy in bulk from commercial
raw food suppliers and then break down the delivery
between them. Sometimes, we do have to partially defrost
our RMB’s so that we can break them down into smaller
portions for storage – so, whereas we buy products that
are fit for human consumption, what we actually feed to
our dogs may have been partially defrosted so cannot be
used for other purposes.
